Press release on Cynthia Barcomi
Cynthia Barcomi is an entrepreneur, baking expert, book author, TV face and mother of four. She studied philosophy and theater studies at the famous Columbia University in New York, which Barack Obama also attended a few years later, and worked as a dancer before turning her passion into a career in her adopted home of Berlin and imitating the American coffee shop culture in the mid-90s Germany brought. The initial spark for her annually growing company, which now employs more than 60 people, came in 1994 with "Barcomi's Kaffeerösterei" in the Kreuzberg district of Berlin. This was followed just three years later by "Barcomi's Deli" in Berlin-Mitte. Both shops are now institutions and also a cult and mandatory part of every visit to Berlin, not least because of numerous mentions. In 2009 she developed the Cynthia Barcomi Kitchenware, a high-quality product line for everything to do with baking. She also regularly shares her passion for baking with viewers of Volle Kanne and ARDbuffet. Cynthia lives in Berlin with her husband and four children.
