MARBLE CAKE FOR MULTISIZE BAKING PAN
PREPARATION
MARBLE CAKE - ENJOY PURE OR WITH POWDERED SUGAR
Preheat the oven to 180°C. Butter the baking pan. Line the individual sections with parchment paper. Leave the ends longer so you can use them to lift the cakes out of the pan.
In a bowl, mix flour, starch, baking powder, salt and sugar.
In a measuring cup, whisk eggs with vanilla and buttermilk.
Mix cocoa with water until all lumps are dissolved.
Add softened butter, cut into small pieces, to the flour mixture and work in with fingertips until a coarse, crumbly mass is formed.
Using a wooden spoon or spatula, add the egg mixture to the butter and flour mixture. Don't mix too much. Divide two thirds of the dough. Then mix one third with the cocoa mixture.
Pour the batter alternately into the prepared baking pan. For an even nicer marbling effect, use a chopstick to make circular movements through the dough - without mixing it excessively.
Bake for 45-50 minutes. do a garden test.
Leave to cool in the mold for 10 minutes. Then pull out by the tabs of the baking paper and cool on a wire rack.
